Landing Pages In Wordpress On EASY MODE...

Prior to 2023, I didn’t really use landing pages that much. Life was easier. I wrote a post, added in some affiliate links, and made some money.

Rinse and repeat.

Then Google’s HCU rolled-out and the dark days began.

I wanted to protect what little visibility I had left in Google, so I set about rejigging how I went about doing affiliate marketing on my sites.

I call this method Click, Click, Boom because, yeah… everybody loves concept branding.

Landing pages were an integral part this new strategy. I needed something that was easy to use, looked good, and didn’t slow down my site.

Not too much to ask, right?

Best Landing Page Software

I scoured the web and my social feeds looking for the best landing page builder. I came across LeadPages, Unbounce, the utterly-awful ClickFunnels, and a bunch more.

Most were around $50 to $60 a month, and most didn’t really integrate with Wordpress in the way I wanted them to.

But then I realised something: all of my sites now run on Ollie, a free FSE Wordpress theme.

And Ollie comes with a bunch of pre-made landing page templates designed by an absolute monster of a designer, Mike McCalister.

So, why not just use these? I knew that all I needed was a fast-loading, smartly designed landing page to house my affiliate offers. Nothing fancy, features-wise.

And that’s what I did.

I found a template inside Ollie that I liked, rejigged it to my liking, ensuring all the important stuff was above the fold and the copy was solid, and that was it – I had my landing page.

The design of this landing page has changed overtime. I A/B test things a lot. But the process of creating it and scaling them across my sites remains the same.

There are loads of excellent FSE themes available.

I use Ollie because it comes with done-for-you designs for everything from CTAs to pages and posts and, of course, landing pages.

I suck at design. I’ve tried and failed to make nice looking stuff with the Block Editor. But I can easily tweak a design that already looks amazing.

Anyone can do that, even me with my non-designer brain.

And with another free plugin, you can make the process of creating landing pages at scale even faster.

I use the free Admin & Site Enhancement plugin for this because it comes with a feature that lets you duplicate pages or posts with the click of a button.

So, the next time I need to build a landing page all I have to do is find my current go-to landing page template in Pages, hit duplicate, and rejig it for the new offer.

All I have to do now is change the copy on the page, the meta data, and the internal links that point at it (this is done using Internal Link Juicer). 

And that’s literally it.

One landing page design + ASE + Internal Link Juicer = landing pages in Wordpress on easy mode.

Oh, and the best part? None of these tools or plugins cost any money – they’re all 100% free.

And with all the time you’ll save NOT fannying around with designing pages, you can put more effort into your copywriting and make each landing page a proper killer.
